Introduction to Soft Pastel
Soft Pastels are a dry painting medium that are essentially pure pigment that are held together lightly by a gum solution. They supply easy coverage to paper and blend with amenability. Soft Pastels are available in a beautiful array of exquisitely brilliant hues. In the studio, they are introduced following charcoal, because the transition is natural, as both drop powder, they are quite fragile, and are easily smudged. Only with the Pastels, color is added to the equation. The results are so rewarding.
