What to expect when you learn at Elise’s Art Studio

My home studio is open six days a week, from Monday through Saturday. The fall and spring semesters run concurrently with the Leander school district. Summer classes begin in June and conclude in August. The class sizes are kept small with a maximum of six students in each class.

When your student joins their art class, they will be individually taught the art elements of line, shape, color, texture, space, value, and form. Through a series of art projects they will learn to apply these art elements and combine them to advance their artistic abilities.

As students progress further, I strive to encourage them in both their rendering skills and taking the initiative to be creative. Enjoying the process is key, therefore we employ a variety of subject matter and mediums, which include an introduction to watercolors, oil pastels, colored pencils, acrylics, charcoal, soft pastels, ink and oils.

Ultimately, my goal is to help students find their wings and work independently. It's such a privilege to be their guide. Once a year, in the spring, I prepare an art exhibit, at which each student showcases their work. Young artists are always encouraged and inspired, when they have the opportunity to view their own art on display and admire the artwork of their peers.
